Luke is a 10-year-old Labrador Retriever in Rogers, AR, who needs $2,000 for cruciate ligament repair.

Luke was given to Cody by his best friend Bo in 2011 and its safe to say that he is best gift he has ever received. When Cody and I started dating in 2018 I was lucky to gain them as a package deal. I never had a big dog growing up, but I quickly learned why labs are simply the best. To say Luke is Cody’s shadow would be an understatement-Cody can't even go to the bathroom without Luke following.

As long as Luke is with people he is happy. When we lived in Arizona we took Luke to one of the big dog parks near our apartment and found a woman he loved and would not leave her alone! If you’ve met Luke you know he has this habit of walking through peoples legs. He will do it until you finally cave and scratch his back. . He is goofy, playful and is quick to sense when you need extra love.

We don’t have the funds to pay this surgery in full. We have some funds set aside in a savings account for the house we hope to buy this fall, but it is not enough. Luke is the best part of our day, a constant source of unconditional love. Any assistance is appreciated.

Last weekend Luke managed to step in a hole while running in the Cody’s parents yard tearing his ACL in his hind right leg. He will be getting surgery Friday May 7th with the same Doctor as he did when he had the same injury to his hind left leg in 2015, Advanced Veterinary Surgery and Rehabilitation Center. We want to give our pup the best chance at living the rest of his life the way he loves.

Although he is 10, he is a puppy at heart and still thinks he is. The only dog he can’t keep up with is Cody’s cousin Kyles black lab puppy Keith, but that’s not to say he doesn’t try! Cody’s mom is an avid walker and in the spring/summer she will take Luke with her so he can swim at beaver lake. The only time Luke will play fetch is if it’s to retrieve a ball or stick from the water.
