Luke is an 8-month-old Lab in Van Horne, IA, who needs $1,000 for TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement).

Luke came to us as a puppy from a local farmer. We had recently lost our previous lab (due to old age). We have had Luke since April 2021. He got the name Luke because his mom's name was Daisy and Luke seemed to fit him perfectly. We live on a farm and Luke is a big part of our lives. Our son is 4 and he loves to help feed Luke, play catch and take him on walks . They are best of friends.

Luke loves to be outside (except if it is dark or raining). We are a farming family so he is always out with us from sunup to sunset. Whether in the shop (snatching and taking off with supplies) or laying in garden with the cat, he is always happy being around people and pets. Luke loves to explore- everything is fun as a puppy, play catch and run but having an injured leg makes this difficult

I am a special 8 month old boy. I get the name Kooky Lukey for many reason. My best friends are a farm cat and a 4-year old but as long as I get attention, anyone can be my best friend. I love to take things that are not mine and find 'treasures' around the yard and bring them up to the house. I love to be helpful by taking my daddy's farm tools and his pop bottles. I love to chase grasshoppers.

Luke has a complete torn ACL in his rear right leg . The only treatment will be to have surgery done (TTA procedure). Once the surgery is complete, Luke will require some pain medication shortly thereafter but otherwise he will have a full recovery and go to live a normal pain free life! On August 10, 2020 we had a major catastrophe called a Derecho (sustained straight line winds of 140+ mph) come tearing through our community. We lost 2 farm shops, 8 grain bins, all of our corn crop, and extensive damage to our home (which is currently being repaired).
