Luna is a 9-year-old Chihuahua Terrier in Antelope , CA, who needs $1,500 for Eye Removal.

When Luna was found in a rural area by friends of ours she was pretty beat up. She was found licking her wounds in their shed with a head wound, bloody nails and a gash along her ribcage. When they took her to the vet they found her left eye was unable to produce tears. She was not fitting in with our friends' dogs. We were looking for a housemate for our small dog, so we decided to take her in.

Luna is very close to our small brown chihuahua Rufio. They cuddle and play all day. Luna is very friendly and social so she always cuddles and plays with children. She is everyone's favorite dog; especially our friend's children. Luna is very close to me, she will often come find me just to check on me before going back to whatever she was up to. She is a wonderful emotional comfort dog.

She is so loving and affectionate, even with new people she has just met. Luna is a kisser! She especially likes to kiss wind. One of our favorite things to do with her is blow air gently as she twists her head to and fro trying to catch the wind with her tongue. She comes up to my lips and gets me to do it when she's in the mood to play.

We have had Luna for 5 years. As soon. As we got her we took her to a specialist for her dry eye. We have been treating her with medication, but in May her left eye (the Dry one) started forming ulcers. We were told it needs to be removed. 2 weeks later her right eye, which had never had any problems before, began forming ulcers as well. We have been treating them but it has gotten worse.

We have spent all our savings on Luna's vet bills. We have no way to pay for the treatment and surgery she needs. Luna is the best dog, if she survives this and gets back to playing and cuddling like she used to with us, our family and our friends
