Little Luna needs your help with a twice broken leg.

Luna is a tiny Chihuahua with a heart far bigger than her fragile little body.

She recently went through surgery to repair a broken leg. A plate and screws were placed carefully, giving her a real chance to heal and run like the young dog she is. Unfortunately, she ended up breaking the same leg and now needs a more complex surgical repair.

To truly save her leg, she needs a specialized orthopedic surgery performed by a specialist—one that involves a bone graft to give her tiny leg the strength it needs to heal properly.

Without this surgery, the only remaining option would be amputation.

But Luna is so young, and their veterinarian truly believes her leg can be saved, and we want to give her every chance to grow up whole, healthy, and pain-free.

The cost to move forward with the specialist surgery is $2,000.

8/4/26 Update

Thanks to all of you, Luna is doing fantastic!! We had to pivot from the original care plan because the orthopedic surgeon said there wasn’t enough blood supply to the leg since her leg was so tiny/brittle to begin with. He didn’t feel confident that it would heal with the new plate, so he strongly recommended amputation. Luckily for Luna, she’s so young and bounced back immediately like she didn’t know the difference! We're so happy she got the surgery she needed and has already been adopted!
