About this campaign

We rescued Luna on June 7th, 2024 at 8 weeks old. She was born with a half-leg and makes up for that with her personality! She has been such a wonderful dog to have and gets along great with our other dog and family. She loves her stuffed animal, Ham-Ham, and loves to run around and play.

We brought Luna in to the emergency vet on Saturday, March 21st, 2026 after we noticed intense bleeding and what looked like bone at the tip of her stump. The vet confirmed it was bone and has set us up to need an amputation of the remainder of her leg. The emergency vet has stressed the importance of getting the amputation done this coming week with the risk of bone to systemic infection.

Luna is very sweet with our family but a bit anxious around other dogs and new people. She has been brought up with lots of love and lots of treats! She loves to play with her older sister and loves attention.

We were quoted by our vet a bill of $3793.15 to $4195.08. I am an unemployed, pre-nursing student who was just diagnosed with a seizure disorder. My mother cannot provide a substantial enough contribution for us to cover the bills.
