About this campaign

Luna came into my life February 2016, complete unexpected. I had promised my self I wouldn't adopt another pet, as I was still grieving the loss of a beloved companion two years prior. My hear wasn't ready to open again, and it certainly wasn't my intention to form anew deep bond. But Luna had a different plan. When I saw her I realized immediately that some connections are simply meant to be.

Last week Luna began showing signs of acute pain, after an emergency Neurology consultation the devastating diagnosis is Ruptured Intervertebral Disc (IVDD) at the C2 and C3 cervical vertebrae. This emergency requires immediate, complex surgery to decompress her spinal cords and prevent permanent paralysis. The total cost for this life-saving procedure is $11,400

Luna is without a doubt, the sweetest girl-a compassionate presence. Luna's behavior around new fosters is one of gentle, quiet confidence. She seems instinctively aware that the dogs she meets are often scared or confused, she never pressures them, but instead offers a calm steady example teaching them by being near that our home is a safe place.

I'm committed to doing everything possibly for Luna and have already used $4000 emergency fund toward the cost of her care, however we need help to cover the remaining cost. any contribution or share helps to fund Luna's surgery.
