About this campaign
After the loss of our sweet Izzy we waited to bring another dog into our life. We visited Honor Animal Resuce and fell in love with Luna. I was pregnant at the time and thought it would be nice to have her at home with me and to grow up with the baby.
Luna is a ball of energy, always! Runs around the house, jumps on and off the couch and chases her cat sister Amber around. Luna loves all people and enjoys walks around out loop in the neighborhood. She has been very protective over her new baby brother Luka as well.
Luna shakes her booty and wags her tail at everyone she meets! She doesn’t like if you stop letting her while resting in bed or on the couch, and will cry until you pet her!
Luna has been extremely healthy until suddenly this week. She had some minor throw up Monday and Tuesday, then Thursday stopped walking. Our friend and veterinarian Dr LePere at Best Care Animal Hospoital saw her right away, consulted with a neurologist at SCAN in Clearwater. They have diagnosed Luna with Myasthenia Gravis. She has aspirating pneumonia and megaesophagus. She is still hospitalized.
Our family also has a special needs child born at 28 weeks, about 12 months ago who spent 109 days in the NICU. We are not prepared to care for a special needs dog now as well but want to do our best to try.
