I adopted Lupé from Gentle Touch Animal Sanctuary to make her life better, she has asthma that they couldn't afford to treat. The first thing I did was bring her to Brooklyn Park Pet Hospital to have her examined and get her started on medication for her asthma. Her asthma is under control but we've faced a lot of challenges with interest in inedible items, something that can't be fixed with meds

Lupé has grown really attached to me, and I to her, from the time I've spent nursing her back to health. She loves cuddling up next to me and sleeping by me. When I first brought her home I had her sleep on the bed next to me so I could help when she had an asthma attack, she grew close to me from me being there for her. She's a permanent part of my family no matter what challenges she faces

Caring for Lupé and keeping her healthy has been a significant financial expense but I've managed it okay up until now. She's had to be treated for stomach ulcers, esophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease and food allergies. She's on prescription food and medication for them.

Lupé has had issues with eating objects that can't be digested. She snuck into my bedroom closet and ate fake plant leaves, but I didn't realize at the time that she did. On 11/29 I brought her to BPPH for xrays and on 11/30 she stopped being able to keep food down. We went to Mission Animal Hospital for her to have emergency surgery necessary to save her life. I spent all day there.

Jacob, the other cat I adopted from Gentle Touch Animal Sanctuary, is Lupé's best friend. When she's feeling well they run around and play with each other. Lupé is special because she's overcome severe asthma and is living a normal life. Lupé being in my life makes me happy and smile, my life wouldn't be the same without her.
