Hi all, This is Lydia. She came to us about two years ago from a horrendous situation where she was living with over 65 dogs. They were severely abused and often starved. Lydia's road has not been easy, but after two years she is in a good place our home where she lounges on the bed and couch with her mom, plays with all the toys, and is spoiled rotten with treats. She's our best girl.

Lydia is still afraid of the outside world, but loves playing in our fenced in back yard. She is definitely a couch potato and prefers to lounge and play with her toys. That is, if her sister Bebe doesn't take them from her. Lydia is a mama's girl and follows her mom around from room to room to stay close by her side. She loves hugs and kisses and paws at us to let us know she wants to be pet.

When we first adopted Lydia from the animal shelter in 2020, she was in rough shape. But she has made great strides and now is a happy girl who smiles when she is in a good mood. She also shows excitement by spinning around, but this is usually when breakfast and dinner are served. Given her background and food insecurity, she has really taken to her two yummy meals a day!

Lydia was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with Lyme disease. The first vet misdiagnosed her lame hind leg and weakness as caused by tick infections. She decline and we brought her back only to be reassured that this is par for the course. Yesterday, she stopped eating so we took her to Blue Pearl ER and they determined that she likely has Discospondylitis. Her condition is severe & she is under 24 hr care.

My husband and I have already paid $7000 to cover Lydia's medical treatment for the next 3 days. But she needs to see a neurologist and get an MRI, which is another $4000. We would truly appreciate any contribution.
