Lyla is a 3-year-old Border Collie Mix in Prague, OK, who needs $800 for Heartworm Treatment.

I lost my best dog friend Charlie last November. I still have 15yr old Snowball , my little indoor maltese. But I wanted another outdoor dog. A lady gave me Lyla. She said Lyla was burned and abandoned then found by her neighbors and they didn't want to keep her. Very little was known about her vet history . Lyla is so sweet tho. She likes it here in her new home.

Lyla lives outside but she is totally spoiled. She has a big dog house that is heated in the winter and has a little air conditioner for summer. She has a fenced yard that is coyote proof cause we live in the country. I spend time outside with Lyla daily. I feed her treats and take her for walks.
Lyla doesn't come inside for 2 reasons she is scared and she doesn't like small animals.

Lyla was scared when she first came here. But very quickly she realized she was safe with me. Lyla's favorite things are me, her dog house and food of any kind. She plays with her toys and buries treats for later. She loves people who visit and shakes there hand. My friend/caregiver brings her kids over sometimes.

I don't think she had ever been to the vet before. So I took Lyla to get a check up and to spay her. They think she is a 3 years old, border collie mix. Unfortunately, they tested her they discovered that she has heartworms. Its a long process and treatment is expensive but thankfully its curable.

I am in my 80's and my dogs are my only family. I am on a fixed income and I really can't afford the heartworm treatment on my own . But I don't want anything bad to happen my Lyla. Could you help me help Lyla?
