About this campaign

Maasai is one of the homeless cats I feed. Since he turned up injured, I’ve taken him inside, and I will keep him inside for the rest of his life so he doesn’t experience this ever again. Maasai is about 1 year old and had been dumped due to the pandemic. He’s safe now, but he’s very sick due to his injuries.

Maasai was homeless, but since being brought inside, he’s shown himself to be a very loving cat. He loves my 18 month old daughter and my pet cats. He enjoys his food and treats, and snuggling on the bed. Maasai loves to have his fur combed out. Despite having been tortured, Maasai loves people and being petted by them. I’m disabled & on a fixed income. My little girl is also disabled. I feed the neighborhood cats because it’s not fair they’ve been dumped, but I can’t afford thousands of dollars in vet care. I feel so awful that Maasai was tortured and it’s mean so much for him to be better

Maasai disappeared for two weeks when he showed up at my door severely injured. He had a diagonal cut across his chest, an open infected wound on his left ankle, and labored breathing. I took him to Katy VCA, where the vet x-rayed him and determined his intestines are in his chest cavity. He needs a $5500 surgery to correct his injuries. Maasai loves, in spite of his recent past. He answers my calls with a hearty meow and comes running to see what I want. Maasai loves to tease our dog (it’s reciprocal). He likes to lay on my chest at bedtime, and stretch his paw out to my lips while he’s petted. He’s just so personable and friendly. I’ve never met a cat like him.
