Mabel is a 12 year old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $1,154 for Hernia Repair, Dental Extractions and Spay Surgery.

Mabel was a stray and placed in an overcrowded shelter where she was at high risk for euthanasia given her advanced age, heartworm status, and large, distended belly. Nothing is known about her past, but it’s evident that she never received the care that she needed. That is changing and she is now free of all parasites and respiratory infections and ready for the next step in her healing journey.

Mabel has a tennis ball-sized inguinal hernia, advanced dental disease, and resistant ear infections. She will need surgery to repair the hernia, extract her rotting teeth and be spayed. Diagnostics and medications are needed for her ear infections. Madison Vet Hospital will continue to provide for her veterinary care.

Sweeter than sweet and surprisingly well mannered, Mabel never barks, and gets along easily with the other dogs here. Bright as a button, she absolutely adores snuggling and being held, has a lusty appetite, and takes her medications like a champ. Mabel’s soft, melting gaze barely masks her unspeakable pain. And yet, this ailing Beagle is 20 pounds of pure love!
