Mabel Jakubczyk is a 9-year-old Chihuahua Dog in Waterbury, CT, who needs $2,000 for Abdominal Exploratory.

Mabel came into my life in 2018 after my dad passed away along with her sister, Ava. They joined my family along with my dog, Layla. Having 3 dogs is the most rewarding thing and there is so much love in my home. As quiet as Mabel is, the house can be very quiet without her. She loves to eat and sleep, which is why she is overweight LOL.

Mabel likes to sleep anywhere where she can bury herself under the blankets. She loves to be warm and will quickly head to sit next to a heater after coming inside on a winter day/night. She likes to have her own space and not be bothered by her sisters, especially while she is resting. She loves belly rubs and to be pet and cuddled.

Mabel is special to me because she was my dad’s dog. When she came into my life, I was grieving the loss of my dad and all she wanted to was cuddle me. Mabel is in my life to give me love and cuddle with me with I need it the most. One thing that she does that makes me laugh is when I open a door and come into where she is, she moves her head as if she is looking to see what is behind the door.

Mabel has been diagnosed with Pyloric Tract Overflow Obstruction. This has now been something that she has been dealing with for 3-4 days, as we have been trying to find resources to help fund her surgery. She is currently receiving care at Aspetuck Animal Hospital and should be going into surgery soon!

I do not have an emergency fund as I wasn’t expecting anything of this sort to happen so soon. I am currently expecting a baby and due in September and have been trying to save money for him along with paying bills on an okay income.
