Mabel is a 8-year-old American Shorthair Cat in Marrero, LA, who needs $500 for Diagnosis and Treatment.

Eight years ago we had lost a cat to kidney failure and the house was pretty sad. We started looking for a ginger and went to the SPCA for one. As we were looking this tiny kitten stuck her paw out of her cage. She wasn’t ginger but she stole our hearts. (We got our ginger too.) We named her Mabel and her new sister Lucy. Two years ago we adopted a little brother for them, Vinnie.

Mabel is a mama’s girl. Whatever room mama is in, that’s where she will be. She likes to sit on the couch looking out the window during the day and loves to curl up with her sister in the evening. At night she has her own pillow in bed and sleeps like a queen. My son is her favorite person (besides me) and she will get up and go to him to get love no matter what time it is.

Mabel has always been a character. Starting from when she was a tiny kitten and slept half on-half off her bed, to “talking” when you scratch her on the back. She started out as a white and grey kitten and now she’s a muted calico with the most beautiful eyes. She has her very own Harry Potteresque lightning bolt on her forehead, which of course shows how special she is.

Mabel has had a history of bladder issues going back years, including a sizable bladder stone that had to be removed in surgery last year. Currently she is not eating or drinking and has lost weight (1.5lbs) and is running fever but we don’t know what is going on.

I am on a fixed income (SSI) and live(d) with my mother following my divorce. She passed suddenly in February and since then I’ve experienced tremendous financial difficulties.
I don’t want my sweet Mabel to suffer because of my financial situation. I need her to be ok.
