About this campaign
I was fortunate to find Mac three years ago at my local animal shelter, Verona Street, in Rochester, NY. This boy was 6 years old and along with his brother, he was dropped off at the local animal shelter. I was actually looking to adopt his brother but when I went back the next day his brother had been adopted. Clearly Mac was meant to be with me and I'm glad that it turned out that way.
Mac is pretty much the center of attention at my home. He competes with my 4 year old daughter sometimes to get on my lap and he usually wins because he is 80 pounds and she is 40 pounds. Mac has no problem stretching out at bedtime on the bed either. And if you try to move him so you can have some space, he refuses to move and you have to put your whole body behind it to move him.
Since the corona virus I have been out of work and I am a single dad. It is imperative that Mac has this surgery!!
Mac is a part of our family, my daughter and I both need Mac to be here. I was awarded a grant through my vets office of $400 so I am able to lower the amount!!
Mac was recently diagnosed with a mass cell tumor. He has to have surgery to remove the tumor that is located near where his scrotum was. I am hoping the surgery is successful and Mac won't have to have any further surgeries. He will need an ultrasound after the surgery for his liver and kidneys to be checked. The hospital is Irondequoit Animal Hospital.
Mac came into my life when he was 6. He had led a pretty rough life. He lived outside, on a cement slab, next to his brother. Even with his past, he is the most lovable, well-behaved dog I have had. He constantly wants to be next to you , keeping that close connection, getting rubs and making sure you will never leave him. He just has a goofy, laid back attitude that people fall in love with.
