About this campaign

Mace was adopted when he was only two months old and has been the only dog in my life ever since. For his whole life, it has been just him and me. He is the love of my life.

When Mace was 9 months old, I was out walking him in my neighborhood when he was hit by a golf cart. With this field only allowing for 400 characters, I can’t explain the whole situation, but essentially we did not realize the extent of his injuries until he started limping years later. He has a torn ligament that requires surgery, as he can no longer put weight on the leg.

Mace is a calm, friendly, loving, silly boy. He loves people, but he prefers to play alone when it comes to other dogs. His favorite thing is chasing lizards and any time he comes across a large piece of wood, cinderblock, tire, or anything else that could be hiding a lizard, he will stare at it until mom flips it over to check if any are underneath.

Mace recently had a $2000 surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on his head. Days before the surgery, I lost my job of two years. The surgery is so expensive. To have Mace be able to walk, play, and chase lizards again would mean everything.
