About this campaign
My husband brought Macie Gray home in September 2016 at just 6 weeks old. She was the runt of the litter and not expected to survive. I woke in the middle of the night as I heard noises in the house. My husband, James, presented Macie in a pink and black polka dot collar with a bow and I couldn’t resist her cuteness despite already saying “no” to a new puppy.
Macie Gray is a loyal protector which her breed is known for. She absolutely loves to play with our Sheppard mix named Myles. Despite her 100 pounds, Macie believes she is a lap dog and likes to climb on the couch into our laps. Like clockwork, she awakens me nightly to take her outside and loyally sleeps at the foot of our bed. Macie Gray is a smart dog and always knows when her Barkbox arrives.
As with many of us, COVID has impacted our household with increased expenses while income decreased. No one expects their animal to get sick, much less diagnosed with cancer. We want To spend more time with her enjoyIng her doggy amazing ness. Macie completes are family!
Macie Gray was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer on 7/27/20. The disease has progressed quickly. She showed no signs of illness until 7/22/20. Macie was in shape, super happy, and healthy. We have learned that this is how Lymphoma presents, one minute the animal is healthy and the next, deteriorating at a fast rate. She received her first chemo treatment on 7/29/20.
Macie Gray is a wiggle waggle ball fanatic. I swear she thinks an animal is in this ball. Macie hits the ball with her paw to make it roll and the ball makes this funny noise. Then Macie sounds like she is talking to the ball and will chase this ball around the yard for hours. Her behavior is so hilarious, we have debated sending a video in to the company as advertisement and for free balls.
