About this campaign

We got Maddie as a puppy. She is a red-merle border collie and is long and lean. We already had one rescued border collie along with two other rescues. Maddie is a natural leader and loves to run and she loves chasing a ball. She likes to keep the ball. Maddie is very shy at the vet's office but has been a real trooper through all her tests.

Maddie is good with our other pets but she loves to be petted. However, she is a little shy with strangers. We call her wiggle butt because when she is feeling well, she wiggles her bottom a lot.

Maddie might qualify as a dancer because of her cute wiggles. When she wags her tail, she wiggles her whole body. She has a long snout and many people think she is a collie instead of a border collie.

Maddie became ill about 3 weeks ago when she vomited and lost her appetite. I took her to the vet the next day, and she had a blood profile done, urine tests, and X-rays. Everything looked all right but she had a high fever. She was prescribed an antibiotic, anti-nausea medicine, and something for pain. They also gave her IV fluids and she returned home.

Maddie has had IV fluids, and 2 ultra-sounds and was seen for a 2nd opinion We are on a fixed income and we have already paid $2,000. She needs emergency surgery because our vet thinks her gallbladder needs to be removed. The estimate for surgery and aftercare is $3,000.
