Maddie is a 12-year-old Dachshund in Palm Coast who needs $1,500 for CHOP Vhemotherapy.

Maddie came into my life in 2009. My husband and I were trying to have more children ( we have one daughter) but were unable. Maddie became the baby we couldn’t have. She lives at home with my husband, daughter, and my daughter’s best friend. We also have another dachshund- my daughters pup Maple.

Maddie is my best friend and constant shadow. She absolutely LOVES to play fetch with a tennis ball and wrestle with her sister Maple. Maddie is also a beach lover - chasing the crabs and digging all the holes possible. We also have our own language - with a little grunt or jump at my ankles she tells when she wants to walk, eat, or just snuggle.

Maddie’s favorite toy is definitely her mini tennis ball. You can find her every afternoon with it in her mouth ready to play. She loves company- always the first to ask for a belly rub- and makes friends everywhere she goes. My family nicknamed her “weather dog” because she can sense a storm miles away. She hates thunder and rain. Maddie also loves to float in the pool with me on a hot day.

Maddie was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and also has a mass in her intestines. We are raising money to get her chemotherapy. She is being treated at Southeast veterinary oncology and internal medicine and has a great team there. Dr. Haas feels chemo is the best way to give her a fighting chance.

We are looking for help as chemo is very expensive -$5000. We are able to cover some but not all of it. We have also recently paid $4000 for Maddie as she had pyrometra in April.
