Maddie is a 7 year old Labrador Retriever in portland, OR, who needs $7,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment for Meningitis.

We adopted Maddie a year ago after Raisa died. (Raisa was our former adopted rescue dog.) Maddie lives our cat, Nani and me and my wife. We were able to rent a small house with yard since Maddie loves to play outside.

Maddie has been seeing a vet since mid May after she stopped eating, was lethargic and was unable to walk without falling. We think she got into something toxic at dog park. Today I took her to MetVet in Vancouver. Prior to that she had been seen by Nimbus Vet. MetVet believes she may have meningitis and/or seizure. They need to run more bloodwork, xrays, MRI to determine what is going on.

Maddie & I just celebrated our one-year anniversary together. She has truly become a cherished part of my life. As a chef, I even made her special donuts to mark the occasion. She used to be so full of energy—she would wake me up in the middle of the night for a snack or to go outside, and she never missed a chance to chase her ball. She was always agile and fast, swimming, hopping, loving life.

The diagnostic screenings and ongoing veterinary care Maddie needs are very expensive, and we are reaching out for help. I live paycheck to paycheck and don't have the extra funds needed to get Maddie well. Thank you for any donations and prayers. We are very grateful.
