Maddox is a 4-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier in Des Moines, IA, who needs $1,700 for Luxating Patella and Cranial Cruciate Ligament and Meniscal Tear Surgery.

Maddox was rescued when he was 10 weeks old with his brother. He fit in my hand and weighed 4lbs, his brother was 17lbs. He was unconscious and barely breathing as you can see in the video. I had to resuscitate him twice but was able to save him. He has had medical issues since he was a baby and we believe him to be autistic. He lives with me and his brother and 2 sisters.

Maddox doesn't play or interact with his dog family. He is content to relax on his own. He also doesn't like change. A new couch throws him off for months. We accepted that Maddox was different when he was just a baby. Maddox is very much loved just the way he is. He's a good boy but not a typical dog.

Maddox is really the forest gump of dogs. Very simple and puppy like and absolutely irresistible. Everyone who meets him compares him to Eeyore. To know this sweet little man is to love him. I wouldn't change him for anything. His canine sisters and brothers love him too. They snuggle with him whether he likes it or not.

Maddox went to the vet for a dental and to have his knees xrayed. Thats when we were dropped down the rabbit hole. Maddox has been half way across the country twice and misdiagnosed. Now we have a proper diagnosis but no money after spending almost 10,000.00 on specialists. VCA in Omaha is who will be fixing Maddox's knee.
