About this campaign
Madelyn and I have been together for the last 12 years. I got her as a tiny kitten from a rescue and she’s been my shadow ever since. She’s the type of sassy calico that wants her space sometimes but then she’s a huge momma’s girl and gives actual hugs and big cuddle sessions. She sleeps every night on my pillow!
Madelyn hangs out when her brother Charlie when she feels like it, they often are found sleeping together on my bed. Madelyn is obsessed with her cat tree and if she’s not scratching the posts, she’s napping in the cube. If I can’t find her there, it’s because she has taken it upon herself to tuck herself under the covers of my bed for a nap!
Her and I have a special bond as she was my first pet I ever got that was just mine alone. Over the last 12 years, she has gotten me through some difficult times acting not as my cat, but one of my best friends. I do not view her or her brother as my pets, they are my children and my ultimate priority.
Madelyn was recently diagnosed with mammary cancer. I have paid for one surgery to remove the tumor and biopsy it. She came back as Stage 1 which was the best case scenario of a bad situation. The oncologist recommends a bilateral radical mastectomy for Madelyn to have the best outcome. This is done in two stages and each surgery is between $3500-$4100, I need help to help my little girl.
Unfortunately due to Covid, the home I was renting ended up being sold, I was forced to take a more expensive rent and then Madelyn and I found ourselves with this horrible news of cancer. It would mean the world to me to have has much time with my girl.
