About this campaign
Maggie was adopted on 11-11-12 from the Hobart Humane Society. I had lost my previous dog, Max, to liver disease on July 3, 2012. I had found a dog online from Humane Society so we went to see if the dog would also be a good fit because my mom had dementia at that time. The dog I was interested in wasn't a good fit. The volunteer at the HS decided to show us Maggie. I didn't know until later my dad had seen before but didn't tell me. Maggie came into the room, went up to my mom to say hi and my mom reached out patted Maggie on the head and said good dog. I guess Maggie picked us because she sat in the empty set between me and my mom and fall asleep. Maggie and my mom were buddies, the bond they shared was one of cookies and goodies. She would watch over my mom to make sure she was ok, protective, and would wake me up if my mom would get up at night and wonder. After my mom passed, Maggie has been my comfort companion during my times of depression and anxiety. Maggie has the unique gift of sensing things before they happen. I will not only be losing a pet but an amazing family member and friend.
