About this campaign
My dog Maggie came to me at age 2 from a Craiglist ad. She has been my living companion for 9+ years. She suddenly got ill in May with diabetes. She started insulin but was poorly controlled, developing ketoacidosis and pancreatitis.. She wasn’t even able to hold water down. It became critical to get her help. These are both chronic expensive illnesses that require lengthy medical treatment.
Maggie loves everyone she meets, people and pets. She helped me through the loss of a beloved cat and helped me rehab foster pets. She is so special and sweet. She particularly liked my dad who passed away. She greets every delivery person as a little long lost friend. Her side kick Ellie, a foster fail rescue is missing her also.
She went to puppy kindergarten when I got her and now performs all the commands she learned and will do them all in sequence to earn a treat. She has beautiful lashes and raises her eyebrows when she interacts. She is so loving and I call her my emotional support dog. I am lost without her and will do anything to help her get well.
She is a new diabetic and is currently at the vet being treated fior critical dehydration, ketoacidosis, pancreatitis and anemia. My heart is breaking to see her so fragile and weak. She is showing some improvement but has quite a way to go. Her condition will need ongoing care and treatment.
I am approaching retirement and only working part time and my hours are soon to be reduced. The entirety of her bill estimates at 11K will be on a high interest credit card, which needs to be paid on for a long time. Our entire household is lost without her.
