Maggie is a 9-year-old Akita in Wichita, KS, who needs $1,500 for a plasma transfusion.

The day we met Maggie, Zac and I knew she was special. We fell in love with her and she became our wedding gift to each other. She was our first "baby", and nine years later, she protects our human babies. Throughout our moves, Maggie has been in the passenger seat ready to see what's next. After we settled into our home in Wichita, she made friends with the neighbor dogs where she frequently runs the fence.
Maggie is the sweetest protector we could every ask for. We joke that if the time came for her to really "protect us" she would lick them to death. In the evenings she is known to go between both girls' bedrooms to put them to bed, and Emma frequently asks for Maggie to sleep in her room because she loves her presence. Her favorite spot to sleep is right in between both girls' rooms. Maggie is a member of our family.
