About this campaign
So, my sister surprised me with Maisie as a Christmas gift last year. We've been together for about 7 months now. There are two other dogs in the house, her cousin Dallas and her aunt Myla. I actually chose her name by asking for suggestions on Facebook, and Maisie (pronounced like mayzee) was a popular choice.
Maisie's issue came to light after she would run around, then she had trouble walking for a few days. So I took her in to Rock Creek Veterinary Hospital. They did some x-rays and had them sent in to the specialist. The specialist said it was Tibial plateau-leveling osteotomy (TPLO) surgery is a procedure that stabilizes a dog's stifle joint after a torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL).
Maisie enjoys playing and running around with her cousin Dallas, but unfortunately, she is unable to do so at the moment. She has a strong fondness for stuffed toys, but she tends to destroy them easily. Therefore, I purchase hard rubber toys for her, which she is content with. Additionally, she delights in eating snow and catching snowflakes, barks at the sound of thunder.
Maisie's unexpected health issue has resulted in a significant financial burden, as evidenced by the substantial estimate provided for the required surgery. Given the absence of an emergency fund, this expense poses a considerable challenge. She needs to be a normal pup.
