About this campaign

Malana was the runt of a litter of seven puppies rescued from a coal mine in Kentucky and pulled from a high-intake shelter, where the smallest dogs often face the greatest risk. I work at a shelter in PA and we pulled her. I adopted her in sept
She lives in a loving home with her three-year-old dog sibling, who is her best friend. Malana follows her everywhere,

Six months ago, Malana was diagnosed with a congenital liver shunt, a serious condition preventing her liver from filtering toxins. Her symptoms are worsening, and medication alone can’t help. The only solution is liver shunt surgery at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates to restore her health and give her a chance at a normal, happy life.

Malana loves everyone and everyone loves her! She is very quirky and looks different! She makes people laugh by her facial expressions. She loves her dog sister. Has couple dog friends. Her 2nd birthday is coming up in may

Liver shunt surgery is costly. I work 2 jobs, pay rent, and live paycheck to paycheck. Helping Malana get healthy would mean the world—she deserves a long, happy life.
