Malchik is a 11-year-old Russian Street Dog in Ridgefield, CT, who needs $2,000 for Oncology Radiation Therapy.

Malchik is one of the dogs saved from the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia - the government (local and/or higher) felt street dogs would tarnish the experience for visitors, so they shot and poisoned them. People from around the world mobilized to save them - driving dogs to other places in Russia, getting them across the border to other countries - and to safety.

Malchik loves a comfy bed, a squirt of whipped cream, and is toy-crazy. He doesn't shred them, just plays and plays and plays! He was a wonderful buddy to my father before he passed, and he really has a special quality to him - he has changed my life. He suffered a traumatic injury (shattered hind leg) when in Russia, and when I saw him in a shelter in DC, USA, I knew he was it. He has 3.5 legs!

The silliest thing Malchik does is 'sing' along to any commercial with opera music. He is constantly happy, which is amazing and inspiring. He's a social butterfly and loves to meet people, which has also added to my life as I am an introvert. We've driven cross-country to the Grand Canyon and he's been to 26 states! He loves road trips, dislikes the 18-wheelers.

Malchik was diagnosed with 2 types of cancer, both Stage II - and the best treatment is radiation as the control rates are excellent. We've had some big 2023 bills leading up to this, diagnostic scans plus surgery to remove the tumor. After doing this, and I want to give him this chance to live a full and happy life. He is receiving care at Animal Specialty Center (NY) with Dr. Kari Rosen.

I'm a solo professional pet sitter and get by, but have limited funds with his prior bills and assisting my senior mom. Being able to pay for his treatment is all I want to do & am putting all my efforts into it. Caring for other people's pets to help my own keeps me going.
