About this campaign
Malcolm is our first dog. We got him as a puppy because we wanted to raise our first dog together. Both my husband and I realized that we couldn't live without a dog in our life, and Malcolm was perfect in every way. He's been with us for the majority of our marriage, and is essentially our first child.
Malcolm has basically been our therapy dog, helping both my husband and myself with our mental health. He has given me purpose in life, and a reason to keep going. This big boy loves playing in the snow so much, and relaxing out on the back porch. We also have a cat, who he loves to play with even though he's FAR too large. That never stops him.
Currently, my husband is the only one working and I am disabled to where I cannot work. Unfortunately Malcolm's medical expenses are now around $7000. We are maxing out our credit cards, taking additional lines of credit and running to crowdfunding for help.
Malcolm got very acutely sick over the weekend of the 8th of May. Mal had severe GI distress, and was bleeding into his upper GI tract. He's slowly getting better but he's still not eating and they still don't know what's wrong with him. We've taken him to Colorado State University Veterinary hospital, and he is being treated by both Dr. Diaz and Dr. Gregory.
Malcolm is such a dork, and a very lazy dog. He loves romping in the snow so much, and oddly sniffing the flowers. He gets WAY too distracted while on walks, that I swear if I didn't pull him along, he'd stay a statue just by sniffing where there were other dogs. He is really always very reluctant to use the stairs, but he always sleeps with us in our room despite that.
