About this campaign

We adopted Maple from Love Mutts rescue in March of 2022, right before we got married! We knew our girl Honey needed a friend to keep her entertained and we saw Maple's picture online and just HAD to have her! It was love at first sight. We knew we wanted another aussie but weren't going to pay full price and when we saw her online, it was fate! We named her after her demeanor, Maple, very sweet!

Maple is the sweetest girl. She lived outside with her sister for the first year of her life and when she was rescued, she was VERY nervous and scared. She spent the whole first weekend staying away from us, and had to be carried up the stairs because she was so afraid of them! After lots of treats, patience, and pets, we were able to gain her trust.

Maple is protective of her sister, Laurel! She will growl at other dogs that come close to her baby sis! She is goofy, loves to lick, and is full of energy! She learned all of her training from her sister, Honey and we didn't even have to put much work into her! She is so smart! She annoys Honey but also makes Honey young again! She is a great addition to our little family.

Maple was diagnosed with heart worms. We knew this was a possibility after finding out her sister had them but things were negative for the first year of testing. Unfortunately, she was recently tested and they found out she was positive and needed treatment right away. It is fatal if we don't treat it ASAP and so that is what we are going to do.

The treatment is $1800-$2,000 up front. It requires extensive hospitalizations, tests, vaccines, medication, and more. It is VERY expensive and with a newborn baby, we didn't expect this to happen on top of the medical expenses from the birth.
