About this campaign

Six weeks ago, I adopted this sweet cat and was looking forward to giving her a calm, stable home. I had lost my other female kitty just before Christmas and I was utterly heartbroken. My male kitty and I needed a companion to fill that hold in our hearts. I decided to adopt because I feel strongly about giving pets a new lease on life and providing a happy, stable home.

Very unexpectedly, she developed a life-threatening urinary blockage and needed emergency hospitalization to save her life. She came to me one day and gave me this painful meow. I just knew there was something terribly wrong. It was the day after the big snow storm, so I had to frantically shovel out my car and drive about an hour in the slippery snow to get her to the VEG clinic in Shrewsbury.

Marinka is a very special girl! She is incredibly friendly and is very vocal with me and her brother. I have a suspicion that she is part snowshoe, but she is missing the blue eyes. Her other traits lend me to think she may have some snowshoe lineage, the vocalization, the closeness with people and the beautiful white paws she has! She plays like a kitten, even more than her brother, and she's 7!

She is treated and stable, but the er care, hospitalization, and procedures resulted in a $6,000 veterinary bill. I’ve taken on financing to make sure she received immediate care, but the monthly payments are a significant strain on top of ongoing costs for Rx food and meds
