About this campaign

Living away from family, I was looking for a companion dog and decided that a Havanese was the best fit. I did my research online, found a breeder, and fell in love with Marley Anne. I liked the name Marley and chose "Ann with an e" after Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Grables).

Nine months later, her sister Maya Rose (also a Havanese) joined us. The three of us became our own little family.

On the evening of Nov 13, Marley Anne was rushed to the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Hillsborough, NJ after throwing up blood. It was there that she wad diagnosed her with Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia. Because she had lost so much blood, they had to give her 2-3 blood transfusions.

Once she was stabilized, she was transferred to the Tinton Falls branch in Red Bank.

At home, Marley Anne is known as The Diva. She is smart, kind, friendly and outgoing. She loves pets and treats. And she always backs up her sister.

She's a real people person (and might not know she's a dog).

While at the Tinton Falls hospital, Marley Anne received additional blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, and underwent 2 TPE procedures (Therapeutic Plasma Exchange). These treatments, along with immunosuppressive drugs, brought her hospital bill to over $30,000.
