Marley is a 1-year-old Pit/ German Shorthaired Pointer Mix in Portage, IN, who needs $1,300 for Gastrotomy.

Marley came into our lives as a stray. We had him scanned, and his microchip wasn't registered...so we decided to make him part of the family. He lives here with his 2 doggo brothers and 1 doggo sister. He loves running around and playing in the yard. He's a sucker for a chew toy. We've only had him for a couple of weeks, but in that time we've fallen in love with him.

Marley sleeps in his crate most nights, as it's where he's most comfortable. He loves his siblings, and his mom and dad. He is crazy about treats, he's not even picky about what kind! He loves watching birds outside and sniffing the fresh air. He also enjoys going on car rides and letting the breeze flap his ears around!

He has the most beautiful amber colored eyes. When he's excited he jumps well over 3 feet in the air like a kangaroo. And I swear he runs like a giraffe. He's all legs so he's sort of clumsy. He is always making us smile with how sweet he is. He gives hugs and kisses whenever you want, and is always down for a snuggle on the couch with a blanket.

Marley got into something and ate something he shouldn't have. We're not sure exactly what it was, or when it was. If it was before we found him or after (as we can't find anything that's chewed up around the house). He now needs surgery to remove an intestinal blockage to save his life. The surgery will be performed at Arbor View Animal Hospital in Valparaiso, IN. by Dr. Ellen Weigel.

My fiancee has been out of work due to illness since December 2021. We have been struggling to make ends meet ever since then. Marley has become a huge part of our lives, and even though we haven't had him that long we can't imagine life without him.
