Marley is a 7-year-old Golden Retriever in Somers, CT, who needs $2,000 for Total Ear Canal Ablation with Bulla Osteotomy (TECA-BO).

Marley came to join on family at the request of our daughter Mallory. Marley was born on Mallory's birthday and wanted a sister for Bella our other golden retriever. It was love at first sight. We also have 2 cats that get along well with both dogs. Mallory choose the name and her nickname is stinkapotamous: chronic ear infections don't smell nice. But we all love her so much. She is so sweet!

Marley likes to sleep on the floor next to my bed. She loves hiking but can get lazy and stop mid hike and have to be carried. When she wants something she starts with a grumble but will escalate to a bark. She is our sock thief. We have gone through so many but luckily she doesn't eat them only rip holes in them. She is funny as she loves to swim in the lake but not our pool like her sister.

Marley's best friends are Bella, and the two cats Munchie and Floofy. They hang out on the couch, in the yard or in the huge hole that Marley has dug under our deck! Having hip dysplasia hasn't stopped her speed. She can trot very quickly and has almost caught a roaming chicken and wild turkeys. She is very protective of our home and will act like she is a fierce guard dog. She is well known.

Marley has been struggling with chronic left ear infections for about 5 years. The situation has become emergent as she has pseudomonas resistant bacterial infection that is not responding to any treatment. She was recently seen by Dr. Painter a dermatologist who feels she needs to her entire left ear canal and Middle ear removed and closed. Curable outcome but will cause deafness in the left ear

I am tired of Marley suffering and want her to feel no pain. Her sister Bella had surgery in May and we have had roughly 10,000 in vet bills in 2023. Care Credit is close to maximum at present and we recently had to get a new roof and a transmission draining our accounts.
