Hi, my name is Madalynn Crane, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart and a lot of humility.
Less than a month ago, I brought home a sweet cat named Marshmallow. In a very short time, she became she became a quiet source of comfort for me and my two daughters. In a season of transition and stress, she brought a kind of peace into our home that’s hard to put into words.

Around 5p on 3/23 she peed blood with a clot. Within the hour we were on the way to greater lansing veterinary clinic. Marshmallow has a severe urinary infection and signs of kidney dysfunction. A urinalysis confirmed infection, and she urgently needs medication and bloodwork to assess kidney function and begin treatment. Without immediate care, her condition could quickly become life-threatening.

This cat is my best friend. She sleeps in bed with me, follows me everywhere. My oldest daughter spends hours snuggling her, and is the reason we call her marshmallow. She has been such a bright light in the short time she’s been with us. Making the choice to leave without the needed treatments was heart breaking, which has lead me to this.

This situation has unfolded during a very narrow and difficult window in my life. I am process of starting two jobs, and have no extra funds. I am eligible for cherry credit of $200, but need at least $50 to start. I have exhausted all other options, including credit.
