Martin is a 9-year-old Shih Tzu/Chihuahua in Lincoln, NE, who needs $2,000 for Cataract Surgery on Both Eyes.

Martin was adopted through a rescue in Omaha Ne (HHP) in 2013. He was rescued with his siblings from a puppy mill. He is a shitzu/chihuahua. His birthday is the same month & day as my grandmother that passed a few months before he was born. We were ready for a addition to our pet family since a month before grandma passed, our older rescue dog passed away around 15 years of age.

Martin was a shy boy & so sweet & tiny. He was a rescue that required a companion animal. We provided a few & his pet friends passed on causing much sadness for him. Eddie (a black lab) was his closest friend. He had a few dachshund friends & several cat friends. His current dog, that we got for him, is Suzie (she is Martin's 🐕) Martin is the Elder & his needs are important to us.

Martin is so funny when we get home. He runs around so fast & has to get a toy & flip it in the air & get it. He also dreams outloud, little bark hiccups. He loves big dogs & wants to make friends with them. He is the kindest boy. He does this little side lip turn up when he sees you eating cereal. He also has to rub his whole body on a blanket or rug couch after eating. He has gotten in a pillow

He has developed cataracts because he became diabetic 6 months ago. He also started to have elevated liver values before that. He has been on thyroid meds most his life. He also developed a cancer tumor on foot, Removed & Prognosis is good 3+ years. Becoming blind is scary, for him, it can be fixed if done within 6 months

As you can see Martin has a challenging though full & happy life. He requires many meds special food insulin & treatments. His human dad is struggling with his health & I had a major surgery, other complication, then had a few good weeks & got covid. We want to restore his eyes
