Hi, my name is Marty, and I am a rescue dog. These kind ladies found me at the shelter just before I was going to be-well, you know.
They brought me home to a bunch of brothers and sisters (evidently, they do this A LOT.) I love living here! I am very happy.

Unfortunately, the latest new brother that we got was sick, but no one knew. He gave all 8 of us an Unresponsive Respiratory Infection. It spread to all of us very quickly, but some of us, like myself were worse than others.
They have taken me to the Emergency room twice now. The stick needles in my arm and put me in a small area with special air (I think they call it oxygen) it helps.

I love my family and my brothers and sisters very much. I am sometimes not in a good mood and I get a little testy. It's at those times they lovingly call me "Marty the jerk." I'm simply misunderstood.

All of the sickness amongst me and my siblings has cost a lot of money for my family, who are disabled and on limited incomes. Veterinary Emergency Group in Tampa is great, but their care is very expensive.
I just want to breathe, run and play again, like normal.
