"Marvin was playing outside in our yard and darted across the street when she saw the neighborhood bunnies," Jessica F., Marvin's human mom, tells Waggle. "At the same time, an SUV was driving down the street and struck Marvin with the front passenger tire and continued to drive away -- running over the back half of her body and fracturing her pelvis."

Marvin can't walk and is in constant pain. She needs life-saving surgery to mend her back together, and her family struggles to pay for it.

Marvin is an emotional support animal for her family, including Jessica's son.

"Marvin is our furry baby girl," Jessica says. "She came to my son and me during the middle of the pandemic. She provides not only emotional support but also provides new adventures, laughter, learning, and unconditional love to us both."

Jessica is responsible for all her household bills and begging for help paying for Marvin's surgery.

"An unexpected accident such as this is not something that, as a single parent, I have in the budget," she says.
