Mater is a 10 year old Yorkshire Terrier in Joliet, IL, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Treatment.

Mater came to us after we lost our beloved Brooks of 17 years. My son decided on his name after Tow Mater from Disney’s Cars. Mater is a big part of our family and enriches all of our lives with his playfulness and love for us.

Mater has been diagnosed with Addison’s Disease, a fatal disease if not treated. We were forced with the decision of treating his care at the ER or losing him. Of course, we decided to treat him which required hospitalization to stabilize him. We had to pay the entire bill, per the hospital’s policy, so we placed the total on our care credit credit card.

Our Mater is at the heart of our family. He provides emotional support to us all with his unconditional love and loyalty. Just recently, my husband had quadruple bypass surgery. Mater never left his side while he was home for 6 weeks recovering and never took an eye off my husband’s every movement.

I am a teacher and my husband works retail. We are not certain how we will pay the hospital bill. I already work a second part time job as an ACT/SAT tutor.
