Matilda Cuchufleta “Cuchu” is a 6-year-old mix in Thronton, CO, who needs $1,500 for dental cleaning and extraction.

Cuchu was found abandoned in a cardboard box in a wooden area near Quito with her 5 puppies. She was very skinny and dehydrated while trying keep her puppies warm and fed. A friend fostered them and found a home for each puppy. When I went to visit her to meet her, Cuchu jumped into the passenger seat of my car and I just took her home. It was love at first jump. My cuddly furry love!

Cuchu is very loving and cuddly, she loves everyone that offers her a pet. I am her favorite, but she also loves my husband Oliver and every morning, as soon as I wake up -doesn't matter if I opened up my eyes yet or not- she will come to the side of the bed and check on me. As soon as I open my eyes, she jumps on the bed for a snuggle and claim her morning love from both of us. :)

I am afraid she is not going to be able to eat and that her digestive health will end up taking a bad turn. It has been a few months since her diagnosis and I am afraid that if left untreated she will be in pain and I will not be able to alleviate her discomfort. :(

As she fell ill while I was in the hospital recovering from my surgery, my friend took her to the vet. They took care of her, but they also saw that she has some severe dental problems that need treatment as she is starting to lose teeth and may start developing other serious conditions to to her teeth and gum infection. :(

Cuchu is always by my side when I am home. She always makes a big fuss when I return, and I love it. I recently had a series of surgeries and was not able to be with her. She fell sick the same days I went in for surgery at the same time, as if she could feel my pain. It was very worrisome, but also heartwarming to know our souls are connected beyond presence. She is a special dog.
