About this campaign
Maverick is a brave 3-year-old domestic shorthair with a big heart. He’s a survivor of the harsh realities faced by many cats in rural shelters, where resources are limited and lives are often cut short. Maverick was slated for euthanasia at one of these shelters simply because he was an FIV-positive cat, but thanks to the compassionate team at Adopt a Cat Foundation, he was pulled to safety.
Over the past few weeks, Adopt a Cat noticed that Maverick, who had always been so sweet and gentle, started showing signs of discomfort while eating. His normally playful demeanor seemed dimmed by pain. Upon closer inspection, it was clear that his gums were severely inflamed and red, a sure sign of dental disease.
Maverick underwent dental surgery, and thanks to the skilled veterinarians, his x-rays revealed some good news: his teeth’s roots were healthy, and none of his teeth needed to be removed. He underwent a deep cleaning, and hopefully he will recover quickly and be back to his loving, playful self very soon.
But while Maverick’s surgery was a success, the medical costs were steep, and Adopt a Cat Foundation needs your help to cover the bill. They take in cats others overlook and give them a chance to thrive. Please consider making a donation to Maverick’s care and recovery!
