I was looking for a companion animal that I can love and care for. I ended up rescuing Maverick or should I say he rescued me from SPCA in Solano County-the best day of my life and I’ve had him for the last six years now. He’s always with me. I moved to AZ to care for my parents, my parents are elderly. Dads A Vet amputee..who now takes walks. I have my house but, mav likes sleep overs!

He has what looks like seizures at least once every month or once every other month. Classic signs..tremors, stiffness, absent gaze, panting, then sleeping for about an hr. Yesterday he had one and he lost some sensation in his back end, slow react to pinching paws, won’t jump up, his back end slopes down, fumbles back feet, his feet slide. I don’t have a significant other in my life, human wise. HE is my side kick. Takes up more bed than I do. we travel together, grandkids, grandparents, are all in love with him. He saved me now I need to save him! People call to FaceTime mav, when we’re not in town. My dad baby talks to him and like he’s his boy, lol. The cutest. He is our saving grace for many reasons.

I moved to Arizona about two years ago to care for my parents and have been doing house cleaning and Odd end job when I don’t have somebody in hospice to care for. I only get 788 from Ssi, pay my part of rent and utilities and car, ins etc. I am struggling since moving.
