Mavis is my 7-year-old pug. I’ve had her since she was a puppy, and she’s been my constant companion through every season of life. She lives indoors with me as a beloved family member with my two other dogs and cats.

During a recent exam for dental work, our veterinarian at Plattsburgh Animal Hospital discovered a large tumor on Mavis’s jaw that was suspected to be cancerous. We are pursuing surgery with a specialist in Vermont at Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists. The estimate is $8,909. The surgery could be curative or at least extend her quality of life.

Mavis has two German Shepherd siblings. She's never really been around small dogs so she has a big dog personality. She howls when she hears ambulances and barks when she hears a dog barking on TV. She runs in circles when she's happy, tail always wagging and can ever quite sit still because she's just so happy to exist and be part of the world.

I wish I had a life where if I'm told my dog could be saved with surgery, that I didn't have to hesitate and ask how much it would cost. I just want to do everything I can for her. It would mean so much to me to see her healthy again.
