Used for Breeding Then Abandoned: Help Max Start Over

Max was found wandering alone, his tiny five-pound body exhausted. Scared and filthy, it was clear this little Yorkie hadn’t been cared for in a long time. The signs were obvious, he wasn’t neutered, his teeth were rotting, and he was horribly matted. We are confident Max had been used as a breeding stud, then heartlessly tossed aside when he was no longer profitable.

Pooch Savers Rescue took him in right away and brought him to the vet. Bloodwork showed he was about ten years old, but don’t let the number fool you, Max has a feisty spirit and a no-nonsense attitude that makes everyone smile. After a week of antibiotics to prepare for surgery, Max had both his dental and neuter procedures, finally getting the care he deserved.

During surgery, Max had 11 teeth extracted due to severe decay. He may be nearly toothless now, but he’s healing well and feeling so much better. For the first time in a long time, this little guy is pain-free and able to enjoy life. He’s been through so much, but Max is still full of personality and ready to take on the world—on his terms.
