About this campaign
Max came into our lives as a rescue pup who had already known neglect far too early. He was just a few months old when we brought him home, underweight, clumsy but full of potential. We named him Max because of his size and soon nicknamed him “Clifford the Big Red Dog”.
Max is our sweet, goofy, two-year-old family dog who’s now fighting for his life. Just days ago, Max was given a chew toy labeled “indestructible.” But Max, being the determined pup he is, managed to tear it apart—and tragically swallowed a piece of rubber that caused a severe intestinal blockage. He is currently hospitalized at Cottonwood Animal hospital in Dallas Texas.
Max lives with two much smaller dogs, but don’t tell him that—he’s convinced he’s their size too, often trying to curl up in their beds or squeeze onto laps like a tiny lapdog. He’s a gentle giant through and through, endlessly patient, playful, and full of life. His favorite thing in the world is galloping around our backyard, ears flopping, legs flying, pure joy in motion.
The cost of surgery and hospitalization is overwhelming, and we’re asking for help. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Max’s emergency care. Time is critical—his surgery must happen within hours. If you’ve ever loved a dog like family, you know how deeply this hurts.
