About this campaign

We or should I say he rescued us from the humane society in Honolulu Hi. When we found each other, Max was about 2.5 years old. He was found as a stray on the island, and it was love at first sight. Max has been a part of our military family for over 5 years now. He is the middle child of our three fur babies.

Max is however the protector but not in an aggressive way. If the other dogs or even people are getting into trouble, he will place himself in the middle to protect the others. This young man has the heart and soul of an angle. He is truly one of Gods four legged angles walking among us. He loves being outside walking or even sunbathing. He would eat cheerios and peanut butter until he pops.

Max is our middle fur baby as he has an older sister (Daisy) and younger brother (Peyton). As seen in his video he loves being outside and rolling around. Every day after eating breakfast he will sniff and inspect the other two as if he is checking on them to make sure they are okay. If you're sad, upset, or hurting he will not leave your side until you are better. We call him our little doctor.

Max was found to have a mass cell tumor at the New Ulm Regional Vet which we had removed immediately. Because of the tumor location he has a large open wound. He has to have his bandages changed every two days. Further treat and testing to determine if it has spread was done at Iowa State Vet Medical Center. He needs chemo treatment to prevent reoccurrence and to prolong his life.

Like most we do not have any pet insurance. The surgery to remove the mass cell tumor and testing to determine if the cancer spread, which it has not, but drained our savings. We have paid $3,523.29 and will have to pay another $4,350,32 to cover Chemo and follow ups.
