About this campaign

Pet Angel Fund

Max was welcomed into Pet Angel Fund with open arms as a community plea. He was likely dumped. All that is known about his past is that Max has a history of seizures and was not medicated, meaning he had months of avoidable seizures. The raw marks on his legs and paws a result of this negligence. He was not properly taken care of. Shortly after coming into foster care, he quickly declined.

Max was acting extremely lethargic, then suddenly collapsed. He began throwing up bits of trash. He started urinating blood and having bowel movements that also had blood in them. Max was quickly rushed to Animal Hospital of Fayetteville in North Carolina. They have been closely monitoring him and diagnosed him with HGE, also known as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, a sudden potentially fatal disorder that attacks a dog's GI tract. It is suspected he digested something toxic.

Max is now fighting for his life. He has been through so much and does not deserve this. He is such a gentle giant with so much love to give. Despite feeling absolutely awful, he just wants to rest his big head in your lap and receive love.

Pet Angel Fund is a non-profit that relies on donations to help animals like Max. Please consider donating to help support Max's fight for his health.

Update 8/19
Max has thankfully pulled through. He has regained some strength and is eating. Sadly, it has been recently discovered that Max has infected sores on 3 of his paws. He is receiving excellent care and will continue to get bloodwork and testing done to help him.

Update 8/27
Max went to the vet for bloodwork and recheck of his foot. His kidney levels are almost normal but a few other levels have dropped, they believe this is a result of the hookworms which may have taken over after he started prednisone as prednisone is a steroid and weakens the immune system. His foot we are keeping a close eye on and hoping for healing since the nail bed had receded down to the bone. We will continue x-rays on his foot if necessary and bloodwork to monitor his health.
