Max is a 8 year old Beagle in Hilton Head Island, SC, who needs $2,000 for Surgery and Biopsy.

We found Max at a kennel where he had been living for several months after his previous owners dropped him off to board him and never returned. We found him to be sweet, active, and loving. We thought he looked like a deer, and it reminded us of the dog from the movie The Grinch, so we named him Max.

Max has a lump on his hind leg/foot area, which the Vet recommends removing and sending off for testing. The Vet completed an initial biopsy to see if maybe it was a fatty lump, but it came back with no fatty cells, so he needs to have surgery. The Vet indicated they can remove it with clean margins but it needs to be done soon before it gets bigger, and surgery is not an option.

Max is loved by everyone who meets him, and he loves everyone he meets. He is scared of loud noises, and a shift of the wind will make him want to run back inside. He howls with fire truck sirens. Loves to run and chase birds and squirrels up a tree. He caught a squirrel once but just let it go. He loves his family and has been our constant comfort during times of chaos.

We have had many recent large auto and home expenses, and a large Vet surgery bill is something we just cannot figure out how to make work. We have applied for grants, tried to arrange payment plans but nothing has worked, and he needs his surgery sooner than later.
