About this campaign
Max came into our lives in the most unexpected way. We found him at a kennel where he had been living for months after his previous owners dropped him off to be boarded and never came back. Despite everything, he was still sweet, active, and full of love. His long legs and gentle eyes reminded us of a little deer, and that made us think of the dog from The Grinch—so Max became his name.
Max had a lump removed from his hind leg, which was diagnosed as soft tissue sarcoma. We met with a veterinary oncologist who recommended Electrochemotherapy. According to the specialist, ECT gives Max an excellent chance of preventing the cancer from returning. His X‑rays showed no signs of spread, which means this treatment could give him many more healthy, happy years.
From the moment we brought him home, Max has been loved by everyone who meets him, and he loves everyone right back. He’s scared of loud noises and will run inside at the slightest shift of the wind. He howls along with fire truck sirens. He chases birds and squirrels with pure joy—he even caught a squirrel once and immediately let it go.
The surgery to remove the lump, follow‑up visits, X‑rays, bloodwork, and specialist consultations have already drained the savings we set aside for emergencies. On top of that, we’ve faced multiple unexpected home and car crises.
