Max has been by my side for 11 incredible years—a loyal, loving black Labrador who has never let his challenges define him. From the moment he came into my life, he’s been more than just a pet—he’s family, a companion, and a constant source of comfort and joy.

At just 3 years old, Max was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition called Masticatory Muscle Myositis (MMM). This disease affects the muscles he uses to chew, causing pain, inflammation, and muscle loss. Despite this lifelong condition, Max has shown nothing but resilience. He adapted, stayed strong, and continued to live his life with a gentle spirit and unwavering loyalty.

Now, at 11 years old, Max is facing another difficult chapter. He has developed a tumor on his foot that needs to be surgically removed, as well as an epulis—a growth on his gums that can interfere with eating and comfort if left untreated. Both procedures are necessary to give him relief and maintain his quality of life.
